Holliston’s 17U Northeast Longhorns Prospects squad made a memorable run in a recent New England tournament, advancing all the way to the championship game before a narrow loss. Their most decisive win came against the Massachusetts Rebels, a 6–1 triumph fueled by a combination of timely hitting and shutdown pitching.

Standout contributions emerged from Anthony Cardarelli, a recent Blackstone Valley High School graduate. Anthony went 2‑for‑3 with three RBIs, delivering two-run hits in key innings and sparking the Longhorns’ offense. On the mound, Ryan McAuliffe dazzled with 4.1 innings of one‑run, one‑hit ball, fanning six Rebels to keep Holliston comfortably in front.

Earlier in the tournament, the Longhorns engaged in a wild 9–9 tie against the Nokona Chiefs, showcasing their resilience. Jack Marino of Blackstone Valley Tech rallied the offense with a 2‑for‑4 performance, clubbing a three‑run double that erased deficits and demonstrated his power potential. Despite eventually falling in the championship game, the Longhorns’ ability to battle through adversity and produce across the lineup stood out.

With prospects like Cardarelli, McAuliffe, and Marino gaining valuable high‑pressure experience, Holliston’s youth pipeline looks deep. Their tournament success bodes well for next spring, as these players return to their high school programs with confidence and polished skills ready for varsity competition.
