Uxbridge completed an excellent 15–5 regular season, largely propelled by the extraordinary play of senior catcher Talen Rosborough. Talen’s dual impact, calling the game behind the plate and dominating at the plate, has been the catalyst for Spartan success. He finished the year batting .593 with 16 RBIs, 18 extra‐base hits, and three home runs, all while striking out just twice all season long. His leadership extends beyond his eye‐popping numbers. Rosborough expertly manages the pitching staff, framing pitches, and preventing passed balls. At the plate, his disciplined approach consistently puts pressure on opposing pitchers. In the Spartans’ first‐round playoff game on Monday at 3:30 p.m. against No. 24 Oxford at home, Rosborough’s experience will be critical. The two teams met earlier in the season in a tight 2–0 Uxbridge win, with Rosborough going 3‐for‐3 and scoring twice. Oxford comes in having won its last two games, including a 12–5 drubbing of Douglas. While the Pirates will bring energy, Uxbridge’s balanced lineup and Rosborough’s dynamic presence create a formidable challenge. If he continues his stellar production, the Spartans will be well‐positioned to advance in the D4 bracket and compete for a banner.
