Hopkinton’s New Elementary School Project Remains Under Budget by $8.7M as Plans Progress

Plans for a new elementary school in Hopkinton are so far coming in under budget. The Hopkinton Independent reports that after having two estimators look at the documents so far, the Charleswood School is under budget by about $8.7 million nearing a cost of just over $116 million including not just the building but also the roadway. Officials pointed out at this week’s building committee meeting that these are just estimates and not real bids, but it is a good sign. Bids should go out soon with a contractor chosen by the end of May.
