King Philip High School Jazz Ensemble Finalist in National Competition

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The King Philip Regional High School jazz ensemble has been named a top 15 finalist in the national Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition and Festival. Over 100 bands applied for a spot in the festival, which will be held in New York City at Lincoln Center in May. King Philip was the only high school in New England to earn a spot. Along with Band Director Michael Keough the 20 students will join others from across the country for three days of rehearsals, jam sessions, performances and workshops.
