Morocco picked up a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Scotland thanks to a moment of brilliance from Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan midfielder unleashed a stunning volley just two minutes into the match, and it proved to be the difference as Morocco claimed all three points.
Brazil also took care of business against Haiti. The Haitians battled hard but struggled to contain Brazil’s attacking talent. Matheus Cunha scored twice while Vinicius Jr. added a goal in first-half stoppage time to lead the Brazilians to a 3-0 victory. The loss officially eliminates Haiti from the tournament.
The final match of the day featured plenty of drama. Paraguay found the back of the net just two minutes into its matchup with Turkey before being reduced to ten men following a late first-half red card. Despite playing a man down for much of the contest, Paraguay held on for a 1-0 victory. The loss eliminates Turkey from World Cup contention.
Attention now turns to another full slate of group-stage action.
The Netherlands and Sweden kick things off at 1 p.m. before Germany and Ivory Coast, both winners in their opening matches, meet at 4 p.m. Ecuador takes on Curacao later in the evening, while Tunisia and Japan close out the day’s action with a midnight kickoff.
