By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Westborough’s Public Health Director is emphasizing there is no public health crisis for tuberculosis in the town. In a statement posted on the town website Tuesday, Jennifer Sullivan says four town residents are actively undergoing treatment for tuberculosis, which is far from an outbreak. She says tuberculosis is caused by bacteria and can be spread when an untreated person with an active infection coughs or sneezes but transmission requires a person to be in close contact for a prolonged period of time.
