By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Westborough’s Fall Special Town Meeting is on Monday October 21. One of the main articles on the warrant, brought by the Planning Department, would replace the town’s zoning bylaw to help spur development along the so-called Highway Business District which generally encompasses the land fronting Route 9 west of Connector Road. The Community Advocate reports the article would change the bylaw to make it more developer-friendly, such as easing up on the minimum open space requirement by allowing the developer to make an open space donation somewhere else in town. It would also reportedly encourage more sustainable design by allowing for solar panels.
