HOPKINTON – A man is in custody after allegedly trying to ram a police cruiser with a stolen vehicle Tuesday night. Hopkinton Police say Christopher Saunders was arrested at gunpoint around 10 p.m. after an incident that began when Southborough Police issued an alert for the vehicle.
Officers say when a Hopkinton patrol unit attempted a stop, Saunders “tried to hit the police car,” then crashed into a fence and fled on foot. Multiple agencies assisted in the search using drones and K9 units, eventually locating him hiding in a garage on Myrtle Street. Police also report finding a large amount of drugs and drug distribution materials in the car, and say Saunders had cut off a home incarceration ankle monitor.
