HOPKINTON – The search for Hopkinton’s next police chief is moving into its next phase, with 19 candidates currently under consideration.
During this week’s Select Board meeting, officials said the Police Chief Screening Committee plans to narrow the field to 13 candidates, who will then meet with senior town staff. According to the Hopkinton Independent, finalists are expected to be selected by the end of August.
Town leaders are also encouraging public participation by reopening an online survey for residents and business owners to share their thoughts on the qualities, leadership traits, and policing priorities they would like to see in the town’s next chief.
