Hopkinton Select Board Chair Criticizes Police Chief’s Leadership

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Chair of the Hopkinton Select Board has reportedly delivered a scathing review of Hopkinton Chief of Police Joseph Bennett. Both the Hopkinton Independent and Hop News report that at a review of Bennett last night, Muriel Kramer said she had concerns about Bennett’s leadership back in 2022 and listed several issues including a delay in the department’s state accreditation. She also called for an independent investigation into the public release of the name of an alleged sexual assault victim in connection with a former offer facing charges; that disclosure is already under investigation by a DA.
