FOXBOROUGH — The Savannah Bananas made their first trip to Gillette Stadium a successful one over the weekend, sweeping a two-game set against the Loco Beach Coconuts in front of New England fans.
The Bananas won 6-2 in Banana Ball points on Friday night before following it up with a 6-3 victory on Saturday, completing a perfect weekend in Foxborough. The two games marked the first time the Savannah Bananas had played at Gillette Stadium.
In Friday’s opener, Savannah recorded six runs on 11 hits, while the Coconuts finished with four runs on seven hits. Ty Jackson led the Bananas offensively with three hits and one RBI, while the team also converted 11 trick plays during the game. Savannah earned Banana Ball points in the second, fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings, including two points in the ninth to finish off the 6-2 win.
Friday night also leaned heavily into the entertainment side of Banana Ball. New England Patriots captain Hunter Henry threw out the first pitch, while the teams mixed in choreographed dances, scoring celebrations and other performance elements throughout the night.
The Bananas carried that momentum into Saturday, defeating the Coconuts 6-3 in Banana Ball points. Savannah produced 12 runs on 13 hits and recorded 16 trick plays, while the Coconuts scored six runs on six hits.
Bill LeRoy provided one of the biggest offensive performances of the weekend Saturday, finishing with three hits and six RBIs for Savannah. Alex Ziegler also recorded seven trick-play outs. The Bananas picked up points in the first, second, fifth, eighth and ninth innings, with a two-point ninth once again helping put the game away.
The weekend gave Massachusetts fans their first opportunity to experience Banana Ball at Gillette Stadium, combining the game’s fast-paced rules with the music, dancing, trick plays and fan interaction that have become trademarks of the Savannah Bananas’ World Tour.
With wins of 6-2 and 6-3, Savannah left Foxborough with a two-game sweep of the Loco Beach Coconuts and another successful stop on its 2026 tour.
