NORTH EASTON, Mass. — The Oliver Ames High School girls’ soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Foxboro, using a second-half goal and a strong defensive performance to secure the win.
After a scoreless first half, the Tigers broke through with the help of a shot from Hayden Kelly, finding the back of the net for the game’s only goal.
Both teams battled defensively throughout the contest, but Oliver Ames held on to its narrow lead to preserve the shutout and come away with the 1-0 victory.
The win sets up an important matchup for the Tigers on Tuesday against Stoughton, when Oliver Ames will have a chance to clinch the Davenport Division title.
