MILFORD — Young basketball players will have the opportunity to sharpen their skills this summer as the Milford Community School Use Program welcomes back the Behn Basketball Camp, beginning Monday, July 13.
Open to boys and girls entering grades 2 through 8, the weeklong camp runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, offering a fun, instructional environment for players of every experience level.
Julie Rabinowitz of the Milford Community School Use Program said the camp has received outstanding feedback from local families in previous years, making it an easy decision to bring it back.
“We had a lot of kids from our travel basketball and city basketball programs attend the Behn Basketball Camp, and they gave it great reviews,” Rabinowitz said. “We’re excited to bring it back again this summer.”
Throughout the week, campers will participate in a variety of basketball-focused activities led by Behn Camp’s experienced coaching staff. Sessions include skill-building drills, game situations, scrimmages, and other interactive exercises designed to help players improve while having fun. Every participant will also receive a camp T-shirt at the conclusion of the week.
Rabinowitz emphasized that the camp welcomes all skill levels, from first-time players to experienced travel basketball athletes.
“Even if they’ve never played before and they’re interested in learning, we’ll take them,” she said. “Whether they’ve played travel basketball for years or they’re just getting started, the more the merrier.”
Registration remains open, and families can sign up right up until the day before camp begins, provided all required paperwork—including a current physical—is submitted before the first day.
“We want to get as many kids as possible involved,” Rabinowitz said.
The Behn Basketball Camp has built a strong reputation throughout New England for emphasizing basketball fundamentals while creating a positive, energetic atmosphere where young athletes can develop confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy the game.
Families interested in registering can do so through the Milford Community School Use Program, with space still available as the July 13 start date approaches.
