UPTON – A meaningful celebration took place in Upton as the community came together to honor one of its own.
During Loyalty Day at the Upton VFW, Vietnam War veteran Fred Schaffert was recognized for both his military service and his continued dedication as a volunteer.
The event brought together family, friends, and community members, including many from his church. Pastor Emily offered the opening prayer and benediction, along with remarks highlighting Fred’s impact and character.
Those in attendance say it was a heartfelt morning celebrating a man whose service and commitment have made a lasting difference in the community.
