FRANKLIN — The Franklin Food Pantry recently honored the volunteers who power its mission during its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, held in recognition of National Volunteer Month.

With demand for food assistance continuing to rise, the event highlighted the more than 150 volunteers who help keep the Pantry running each week—supporting programs like in-person shopping, curbside pickup, mobile pantries, and the Weekend Backpack Program.

Guest speaker and local author Ali Rheaume shared a heartfelt message about the impact of volunteers in the community.

“Franklin Food Pantry volunteers do more than provide food—they provide dignity,” Rheaume said, emphasizing how even small acts of service can create meaningful connections.

Executive Director Tina Powderly also thanked volunteers for their dedication, noting their role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for those seeking assistance.

The event was made possible with support from local businesses and community groups, including G&C Plumbing and Heating, New England Chapel, and several local food providers, along with help from Franklin High School softball teams and Franklin Fathers.
