DOUGLAS – Fourteen-year-old Ashton Crowley of Douglas is proving that determination and resilience can overcome even the toughest challenges.
After undergoing open-heart surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital in March 2026, Ashton has made an inspiring recovery. Just three months later, the lifelong New England sports fan had the opportunity to carry out the game ball as part of the Dream Team, marking an unforgettable milestone in his journey back to health.
Beyond his remarkable recovery, Ashton has also excelled in the classroom. An honor student at his Douglas school, he served as class president and will continue his education this fall at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School (BVT), following in the footsteps of his father, Mike Crowley, owner of Crowley’s Plumbing.
Ashton’s story is a testament to perseverance, hard work, and the support of family, friends, and his medical team. Congratulations to Ashton on his incredible recovery and best of luck as he begins this exciting new chapter at BVT.
