BELLINGHAM – Bellingham Police K9 Louie now has a bullet- and stab-protective vest thanks to a donation from the nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s.
Louie’s vest is embroidered with the words “In memory of Chris Caramela.” Vested Interest in K9s provides protective equipment and other assistance to law enforcement and working dogs across the country. The organization says donations have helped provide more than 6,000 protective vests to K9s in all 50 states.
