HOPEDALE – West Nile Virus has been detected in mosquitoes near Liberty Circle.
The Hopedale Board of Health says the Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirmed the detection. West Nile Virus is most commonly transmitted to people through the bite of an infected mosquito.
The Board of Health arranged for the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project to spray several streets and neighborhoods last night, with additional spraying possible tonight.
