MENDON – Mendon residents can safely dispose of unwanted household chemicals and sensitive documents Saturday during the town’s Household Hazardous Waste Day and Document Shredding Day.
The event will run from 9 AM to noon at Miscoe Hill Middle School. Accepted materials include most paints, solvents, household cleaners, insecticides and swimming pool chemicals.
Items that will not be accepted include latex paint, explosives, ammunition, asbestos, car batteries and fluorescent lights.
E.L. Harvey will provide document shredding during the event, with residents able to watch their documents being destroyed.
The event is available to Mendon residents only, and proof of residency is required.
