MENDON – Mendon residents looking to clear unwanted chemicals and old documents out of their homes will have an opportunity to safely dispose of them next weekend.
The Town is holding a Household Hazardous Waste Day and Document Shredding Day on Saturday, August 29th, from 9 AM to noon at Miscoe Hill Middle School.
Residents can dispose of many common hazardous household products, including most paints, solvents, household cleaners and swimming pool chemicals.
Some materials will not be accepted, including latex paint, explosives, ammunition, asbestos and fluorescent lights.
E.L. Harvey will also provide on-site document shredding, with residents able to watch their documents being destroyed. The event is for Mendon residents, and proof of residency is required.
