MENDON – Mendon residents now have access to real-time local air quality information thanks to a new monitoring network installed throughout town.
According to the Mendon Commons, the town received a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to install PurpleAir sensors that measure fine particulate matter.
The sensors have been placed at Town Hall, Lake Nipmuc Beach, Miscoe Hill Middle School, Providence Street, and Southwick’s Zoo. Residents can view current air quality conditions by visiting the PurpleAir website and searching for Mendon or other participating communities.
