BELLINGHAM – The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office has identified the two women who died in a house fire early Monday morning in Bellingham.
Officials say sisters Elizabeth Emery and Patricia Cronin-Parker were inside a home on Temi Road when the fire broke out shortly after midnight. Firefighters responded quickly and were able to remove both women from the residence, but they later died at a hospital.
Investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and local authorities continue to examine what caused the blaze. A spokesman for the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services said the fire does not currently appear to be suspicious. Investigators have also indicated that the home did not appear to have working smoke alarms.
