GRAFTON, MASS. — Grafton Post 92 returned to the win column Tuesday evening, defeating Framingham Post 117 by a score of 5-1 and ending a three-game losing streak.

The victory came behind a strong pitching performance and timely offense, as Grafton improved its standing midway through a demanding stretch of four games in four days.

After a scoreless first two innings, Post 92 broke through in the third, scoring a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead. Grafton maintained control from there and added three more runs in the fifth inning to create valuable separation.

The offense was led by catcher Kyle Brown, who drove in multiple runs and helped provide the cushion Grafton needed. Left fielder CJ Chagnon also played a key role at the plate, delivering a multi-hit performance and helping keep pressure on the Framingham pitching staff throughout the game.

While the offense supplied the runs, Storm Ellison took care of the rest on the mound. The right-hander turned in a complete-game effort, pitching all seven innings while allowing just one earned run. Ellison struck out six batters and consistently worked ahead in counts, limiting Framingham’s opportunities to generate offense.

The strong all-around performance was exactly what Grafton needed after a difficult stretch. With the victory, Post 92 earned a much-needed boost of momentum and improved to 1-1 during its challenging four-games-in-four-days run.

Grafton will look to carry that momentum into the remainder of the week as it continues its busy American Legion schedule.
