GRAFTON — Grafton Recreation is preparing for the first-ever Grafton Day on Friday, Aug. 21, with activities planned throughout the Grafton High School complex.
The event will run from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and will include a community zone, inflatables, local vendors, food trucks, a car show, Touch-a-Truck activities, music and a beer and wine garden.
The Community Zone, located in the baseball outfield, will feature more than a dozen local businesses and municipal commissions sharing information about their organizations, along with free giveaways and activities.
Nearby, families will find a half-dozen inflatable bounce houses and games. Wristbands for the inflatable area will be available for purchase at the entrance, with cash required.
A Crafter Alley near the turf stadium will feature nearly 20 local artisans selling handmade items including fiber art, jewelry, glasswork and other crafts.
Food Truck Alley will include Anzio’s Brick Oven Pizza, Melt and 3KingsBBQ, while dessert and refreshment options will include Benny’s Ice Cream Truck and Rolli Cannoli. The Grafton High School Class of 2027 will also be selling light refreshments and offering face painting.
The basketball courts will serve as another activity area, with MyFM 101.3 playing music and broadcasting live segments during the event. The Grafton Girl Scouts will also be set up nearby with activities.
Grafton Day will also include the town’s first Cruise Night, featuring classic cars, along with a Touch-a-Truck area where children can explore police, fire and Department of Public Works vehicles.
The first 100 children who speak with a police officer at Touch-a-Truck will receive a coupon for a free ice cream from Benny’s Ice Cream Truck.
Adults will also be able to visit a beer and wine garden in front of the GCTV studio, featuring drinks from Slow Down Brewing Company and Broken Creek Vineyard.
For anyone needing assistance during the event, the Police Command Unit will be stationed near the parking lot exit.
The first-ever Grafton Day takes place Friday, Aug. 21 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Grafton High School complex.
