MENDON – Visitors to Lake Nipmuc should be aware of temporary restrictions as the lake undergoes treatment for nuisance aquatic vegetation and algae.

The treatment is scheduled for Thursday, and officials say swimming, boating, and fishing will not be permitted that day. Recreational activities may resume Friday, but water-use restrictions will remain in place for several days.

Residents are advised not to use lake water for drinking, cooking, watering plants, or allowing pets to drink from it until Sunday. Water from the lake also should not be used to irrigate food crops until Tuesday, June 16th.
