HOPKINTON – Hopkinton Police Chief Joseph Bennett has announced he will retire on June 30, bringing an end to a 35-year career in law enforcement. Bennett has spent most of his career in Hopkinton after joining the department in 1993.
He rose through the ranks serving as patrol officer, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, deputy chief, and ultimately chief in April 2020. Town officials have not yet outlined the process for selecting his successor.
