Blackstone Valley’s baseball team put together one of its most complete performances of the young season Wednesday night, rolling past Bay Path 14-4 behind a huge offensive burst and steady pitching. The Beavers broke the game open with a seven-run fifth inning, which turned a competitive matchup into a runaway win.
Will Nason led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Ayden Joseph also finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Maxx Krauss added a triple and Jack Marino contributed a double and two RBIs. Blackstone Valley’s offense was balanced throughout the lineup, with players finding ways to keep innings alive and capitalize once runners reached scoring position. That consistent pressure made the difference as the Beavers kept adding to their lead.
Jordan Martorano handled the mound work and gave Blackstone Valley a quality outing, striking out seven over four innings while allowing three runs. The Beavers’ combination of offense and pitching gave them control from the middle innings on and helped them improve to 3-0 on the season.
Blackstone Valley now moves quickly into another strong test, facing Northbridge today at 3:30 p.m. The Rams are 1-0 after a 7-6 win over North Middlesex on Monday, so this should be a good early measuring stick for a Beavers team that is off to a strong start and carrying plenty of momentum.
