Hopedale continued its hot start last night with an 11-1 win over Bay Path, taking control early and never letting up. The Blue Raiders came out swinging and scored nine runs in the first three innings, which quickly turned the game into a comfortable one. From there, Hopedale stayed aggressive and finished the job with another convincing performance.
Emily Atwood was excellent once again, helping lead the way both at the plate and in the circle. She collected two hits, including a double, drove in two runs, and struck out nine batters across seven innings. Layla Huntley also had a standout night, launching a three-run home run and finishing with four RBIs. Those contributions helped Hopedale keep pressure on Bay Path throughout the game.
The Blue Raiders are now 2-0 after opening the year with a 3-1 win over Millis. Atwood had 12 strikeouts in that game, while Huntley added two RBIs to help secure the victory. Hopedale has looked sharp in both contests and appears to be building early momentum on both sides of the ball.
Next up is a matchup with Blackstone Valley tomorrow at 4 p.m. Both teams are 2-0, and the Beavers are coming off a 15-3 win over Burncoat, so this should be one of Hopedale’s toughest early-season tests. The Blue Raiders will need their offense to stay productive against a strong opponent.
