MILFORD – Milford Police have been actively enforcing traffic safety through their “Operation Safe School Zone”, focusing on areas around Milford High School, Stacy Middle School, and Brookside, Woodland, and Memorial elementary schools. The initiative is aimed at reducing dangerous driving behaviors near students and school zones.
On Monday alone, officers observed 46 separate traffic violations in just four hours, resulting in 24 citations and 4 criminal applications. Chief Robert Tusino says the department plans to continue the operation on select days for the remainder of the school year to improve safety in these high-traffic areas.
