WESTBOROUGH — The Westborough Wastewater Treatment Plant is facing a major upgrade estimated at $10.5 million, with the cost to be divided among the three towns that rely on the facility.
According to the Community Advocate, Westborough, Shrewsbury, and Hopkinton all use the plant, and each town’s share of the expense will be based on the percentage of wastewater flow they contribute. Officials report that approximately 57% of the flow comes from Shrewsbury, 38% from Westborough, and about 5% from Hopkinton.
Westborough’s portion of the funding is expected to be brought before voters at the March 21 Town Meeting.
