Blackstone Valley edged Medway 3-1 in Hopedale as the Beavers turned a tight contest into a controlled third-period finish. Medway opened the scoring in the first period and carried a 2-1 lead into the middle frame, but Max Pilkington evened it in the second on a play set up by Max Krauss.
The third period belonged to BVT. Jamus Greenstein converted on the power play to give the Beavers the lead, and Max Krauss added an insurance goal minutes later to ice the result. Goaltending and disciplined defensive assignments limited Medway’s chances late and allowed Blackstone Valley to protect the margin.
Finn Lozeau’s earlier performances and the club’s recent scoring balance have been key to turning close games into wins. The victory moves BVT to 6-4-1 and snaps a brief skid following a loss to Marlborough.
The Beavers travel to West Springfield Saturday at 5:30 p.m., where the Terriers (5-8-1) offer another physical test. If Pilkington, Krauss, and Greenstein continue producing and the special teams stay sharp, Blackstone Valley can use this result as a springboard into a sustained run.
