Whitinsville Christian’s boys basketball hit a rough patch this week, dropping back-to-back games after a five-game winning run to open the season. The Crusaders’ offense failed to find consistent flow in a 30-53 loss at Quaboag, a night in which Whitinsville could not crack double digits in any quarter. Eamon Moloney paced the scoring with 10 points, but the team struggled to convert possessions into points.
That result followed a 60-43 defeat to Sutton earlier in the week. The Sammies controlled the tempo, leading 28-18 at halftime and delivering a decisive 21-13 third quarter that put the contest out of reach. Moloney led Whitinsville with 17 points in that game, and Micah Deters added eight in relief, but Sutton’s pressure and rebounding margin were the difference.
Before the skid, Whitinsville had a comprehensive 55-38 road win over Uxbridge, a game in which Ethan Curry drilled four threes and finished with 18 points. That victory showcased the Crusaders’ potential and depth.
Whitinsville now turns its focus to Leicester tonight at 6:30 p.m. The Wolverines arrive at 6-1 and present a tough test. Coaches will emphasize ball movement, late-game execution, and getting multiple scorers involved so the Crusaders can snap the slide and reclaim momentum.
