MILFORD — Milford Post 59 completed a dominant doubleheader sweep Wednesday night, defeating North County Post 193, 13-3, in Game 2 behind another explosive offensive performance and strong pitching.
Milford wasted little time taking the lead, scoring once in each of the first three innings before pulling away late. Post 59 added two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth, and five more in the seventh to put the game out of reach. The offense stayed hot throughout the night, collecting 13 hits while drawing 10 walks.
Nick Pedroli turned in one of the most complete performances of the season, starring both at the plate and on the mound. The Milford standout went a perfect 5-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored, reaching base every time he stepped into the batter’s box. He also earned the victory on the mound, tossing five strong innings while allowing five hits and two earned runs with three strikeouts, helping set the tone for another convincing Post 59 win.
Jackson Fournier continued his torrid stretch at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three RBI, and two runs scored. Brayden Lewis added two hits, including a double and a triple, while Sam Schoenberg scored twice and drove in a run. Ben Maiorano chipped in an RBI single, Nolan Murray added an RBI, and Joey McGee and Sean Burchard each reached base multiple times to round out another balanced offensive effort.
After Pedroli’s strong outing, Brady Wajda tossed a scoreless sixth inning before Jackson Fournier closed out the game in the seventh.
North County was led by Andrew Beauregard, who doubled and tripled, while Brodhi Byars and Bryson Chartier also collected hits. Chartier drove in the visitors’ lone RBI.
The twin victories capped an impressive day for Milford, which outscored North County 26-6 across the doubleheader. Post 59’s offense produced 28 hits while its pitching staff limited North County to just seven hits over the two games. Milford now holds strong at 10-2 on the season, and await a home matchup with first-place Leominster this Friday night at 7:00 at Fino Field.
