HOPKINTON/WESTBOROUGH — Good news for drivers in Hopkinton and Westborough as the Fruit Street Bridge now has two lanes open, restoring two-way traffic after more than a year of major construction.

For about a year and a half, the bridge has been undergoing extensive work as part of the large-scale I-495/I-90 interchange upgrade project. While crews will continue working on sidewalks and additional paving, officials say drivers can expect two-way traffic to remain in place going forward.

According to the Community Advocate, full-depth paving on the approaches to the bridge is planned for the spring, but despite the remaining work, officials confirm that traffic will continue flowing in both directions from now on.
