The Uxbridge Spartans closed out a strong season as the No. 19 seed in D4 girls soccer at 11-5-2 before running into a very tough South Hadley squad in the Round of 16.

Uxbridge opened the postseason with a dominant 6-0 preliminary-round win over Minuteman Regional, a match in which Ava Cahill starred with a hat trick and an assist. Kylie Alicea added a goal and an assist, Miranda Elturkmai scored, and Amelia Belanger recorded the shutout to keep Uxbridge rolling.

The Spartans then survived a dramatic triple-overtime thriller against Leicester two days later, advancing via a 3-1 shootout. Cahill was outstanding again, tallying two regulation goals and converting in the shootout to push Uxbridge into the Round of 16 against the No. 3-seeded South Hadley.

Against the Blue Devils, Uxbridge had little answer and fell 4-0 to a balanced, efficient South Hadley side. While the final score was disappointing, the season included multiple high points, a playoff advance, a blowout opening-round win, and several clutch performances, and the Spartans have ample reason for pride as they close the year.

Uxbridge leaves the season with strong building blocks and a young core that should return motivated to take the next step.
