A former Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office employee has been arrested on federal charges.  Former assistant deputy superintendent of jail operations Thomas Brady has been indicted for extortion and bribery for allegedly having county maintenance workers do work on his home for free under threat of losing their jobs. After it was made known, the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission conducted an investigation and ruled that Brady violated the state’s conflict of interest law. He was terminated from the Sheriff’s Office May 5. On Wednesday Brady pleaded not guilty to all seven charges against him.
