Warriors Seek Boost in Key Tennis Match

The Medfield girls’ tennis team has navigated a challenging schedule to post a strong 6–2 record, positioning itself as a top Division 3 contender. After rebounding from a tight 2–3 loss to Hopkinton and a 0–5 setback at the hands of Dover-Sherborn, Medfield roared back with a commanding 5–0 sweep of Dedham last week. That victory showcased the team’s depth: every singles and doubles pairing closed out matches in straight sets, combining steady serving with aggressive net play. Today at 4:30 PM, the Warriors host the Westwood Wolverines—ranked 13th in Division 2 and carrying a 6–3 mark—at the Medway Middle School Courts. Facing a higher-division opponent presents the toughest home test of the season and a critical opportunity to improve Medfield’s playoff seeding. Regardless of the outcome, the experience of competing against a top-tier squad will benefit the Warriors as they prepare for postseason pressure. With momentum from mixed results and lessons learned against elite foes, Medfield aims to leverage home-court advantage and continued improvement in communication, footwork, and shot execution to climb further in the Division 3 standings.
