Former Upton Fire Chief Michael Bradford Sr. has passed away. He died April 2 at the age of 78. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War Era. While serving as the Town of Upton Highway Supervisor, he became a call firefighter for the Upton Fire Department, where he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Chief and, ultimately, Fire Chief for the final 10 years of his career. He had been married to his wife Mary since 1974. There are visiting hours today from 4 to 7 at the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass tomorrow at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church.
