The Uxbridge School Committee has announced that Michael Baldassarre is no longer the Superintendent of Schools. On Tuesday the Committee announced it had reached a separation agreement with Baldassarre, calling it in the best interests of students, staff, and the district as a whole. The decision comes just days before Baldassarre is set to appear in court to face a drunk driving charge. The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports he was arrested in January when state police allege he was going more than 100 mph on Interstate 495 in Bolton and nearly caused a crash. He has been on paid leave since with Assistant Superintendent Karen Dwyer serving as Interim Superintendent.
