The Governor is proposing an infrastructure funding package that, if it passes, could bring more money to rural communities for roads and bridges. Last week the Governor filed a five-year legislation package in which $200 million a year would be distributed by a formula counting for road mileage, population and employment, as it has been for the last several years. But there would also be another $100 million based on just road mileage which would give more of the pie to rural communities. The Franklin Observer reports that could mean $1.4 million for Franklin and maybe $3.1 million for Medway.
