By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The company that makes the laptop that malfunctioned and burned an Uxbridge sixth-grader Tuesday during MCAS testing says of the more than 150,000 of that model Chromebooks being used across the US that is the first time that has happened. Superintendent Michael Baldassarre says on Wednesday ACER’s director of services and chief engineer met with district administration to review the affected laptop using high-definition cameras, but so far the cause of the malfunction is still under investigation. ACER is sending the district 450 new laptops so the MCAS testing can resume.
