8-Year-Old Hopedale Boy Killed in Maine Car Crash; Alcohol Suspected

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – An 8-year-old boy from Hopedale has been killed in a car crash in Maine. Police in the town of Rumford say the boy’s father Matthew Kellogg was driving east on Route 2 with the boy and his 5-year-old brother when he collided with a westbound car driven by a Rumford man. All four were taken to a hospital where the 8-year-old died. Kellogg and the 5-year-old are said to have life-threatening injuries. Police have not provided the medical condition of the other driver. Investigators are calling it a high-speed crash and say alcohol is likely involved.
