By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Hopkinton Select Board has reportedly voted to fire a police officer accused of withholding information about allegations that another officer had sexually abused a student in 2005. At their meeting last night, the Select Board voted to fire Sgt. Tim Brennan. The Hopkinton Independent reports Brennan told supporters he was given an option to stay with a demotion and pay cut but declined and will seek arbitration. The accused former officer, Jay Porter, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of child rape.
