Uxbridge Town Meeting Votes Result in Unfunded School District for 2025

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Uxbridge Town Meeting voters have inadvertently voted not to fund the School District next year. The Superintendent says at Tuesday’s Town Meeting voters were told if the 2025 budget didn’t pass, the district would still be funded on a month-to-month basis based on 2024 until a 2025 budget is approved. But Wednesday the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education said that can’t happen, and now there is no approved funding for 2025. The School Committee will review next steps when they meet Monday.
