HOLLISTON – A toddler who nearly drowned at Stoddard Park Beach over the weekend is recovering, while her father remains hospitalized.
According to the Milford Daily News, two bystanders, Vanessa Gomes and Beatriz Souza, rushed to help after hearing the child’s father call for assistance. The father reportedly broke his leg while trying to reach the child, who was unresponsive when the women arrived.
Gomes and Souza performed CPR for more than three minutes until the toddler began crying. Holliston firefighters then arrived to continue medical care. The family has since told Gomes that the child is doing very well.
