The Hopkinton Marathon Committee Wants to Trademark Slogan “It All Starts Here”

The Hopkinton Marathon Committee reportedly wants to apply for a federal trademark for their slogan “It All Starts Here”. At this week’s Select Board meeting one member suggested the town invest the $500 for the Marathon Committee to purchase a federal trademark to keep it safe, citing its usage by another city albeit for a different reason. The slogan does have a state trademark that was registered by the chair of the Marathon Committee but officials say on the federal level if someone else grabs it, it’s gone.
