FRANKLIN – Hockey fans will have a chance to see one of the most famous trophies in sports when the Stanley Cup makes a visit to Franklin next month.
Former Franklin High School hockey coach Bob Luccini, who spent more than 20 years coaching at the school and has more recently worked as a scout for the Carolina Hurricanes, is bringing the Cup to town following the Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup championship over the Vegas Golden Knights.
Luccini tells the Franklin Observer that the public will have an opportunity to see the Stanley Cup at the Franklin Rod & Gun Club on Florence Street on Friday, September 11, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
The appearance will give local hockey fans a rare opportunity to get an up-close look at the Stanley Cup while celebrating the connection between Franklin and a member of the championship organization.
