By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources has confirmed an infestation of the invasive insect known as the spotted lanternfly in Grafton. A member of MDAR’s spotted lanternfly survey team discovered lanternfly egg masses on trees in town during a routine survey earlier this season. Spotted lanternfly is a pest that attacks grapevines, maple trees, and many other types of plants. Over the next several weeks MDAR or USDA surveyors will be checking trees to determine the extent of the infestation.
