GRAFTON – Grafton’s Charter Review Committee is considering whether Planning Board members should be appointed rather than elected.
The Community Advocate reports that committee members say residents have raised concerns about the small number of candidates who run for the seats, with some positions ultimately being won through write-in votes.
While Planning Boards are elected in most Massachusetts communities, officials say there has been a recent trend toward appointed boards. Any change in Grafton would ultimately have to go before the Town Meeting.
