BLACKSTONE – Several businesses on Main Street are closed following a fire at a local restaurant Wednesday morning. Crews responded around 11 a.m. to Hunan Place, with assistance from firefighters in Bellingham, Mendon, Woonsocket, and Millville, and were able to contain the flames quickly.
While the fire was largely limited to the restaurant, smoke damage impacted multiple nearby businesses, forcing temporary closures. A preliminary investigation indicates the fire was accidental and started while someone was cooking in the kitchen.
